This fall, we are celebrating some of our outstanding students who are graduating this semester. We wish all of our graduating students the best as they begin the next chapter of their journeys.

Jonathon FrenchName: Jonathon French

Hometown: Fort Pierce, Florida

Program: International and Multicultural Education (PhD)

Why did you choose your program?

I chose a program in [the department of] Educational Leadership and Policy Studies because I wanted to signal to future employers that I had skills in researching and analyzing education policy. The International and Multicultural Education major allowed me to develop  practical research and evaluation skills targeted directly towards working in international education.

What's your favorite part of your program?

I liked that I got complete a simultaneous graduate certificate in Program Evaluation along with my doctoral coursework. The certificate courses offered several novel opportunities to reassess the theory and skills that I learned in my PhD courses.

What do you want to do after you graduate?

I want to contribute to international efforts that provide education to displaced populations. I think there are a lot of new technologies and knowledges that can be used to reevaluate the access and quality of education for refugee children. I hope to use some of the things I gained from FSU and other past experiences to contribute to this reevaluation.
