Leadership Studies Certificate
Leadership Studies is interdisciplinary, multidimensional, and experiential. The program uses practical experience and service-learning projects to frame leadership learning within the context of social change, preparing you for leadership in multiple contexts.
The undergraduate certificate in Leadership Studies is a 12-credit program open to all Florida State University undergraduate students. The program consists of nine credit hours of core courses and three credit hours of an elective.
Prospective students must consult with a Leadership Studies advisor (leadership-studies@fsu.edu) before starting this certificate admission application.
Admission to a certificate program is required; students are not enrolled in a certificate program by virtue of being enrolled in related courses. Students must first apply to and be admitted to both the university and the certificate program to be considered enrolled. This certificate does not lead to licensure, and courses may be subject to the excess hour fee identified in Florida BOG Regulation 7.003.
In accordance with Florida State University policy, admission to Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences certificate programs requires submission of the online Anne’s College Certificate Admissions Form (link below) to the appropriate department Certificate Program Coordinator and to the Registrar’s Office prior to the completion of two courses in the certificate program (grades posting for those courses). Students must submit the form no later than two weeks prior to the end of the semester in which they are enrolled in the second course, allowing for processing time. Certificate applications received after completion of two courses in the certificate will be denied.
Students must have earned a C or better in certificate courses and maintained a 2.0 cumulative GPA in all certificate coursework.
After all certificate coursework is completed, but no later than 2 weeks after grades post, an online Certificate Completion Form (link below) must be filled out and submitted to the department Certificate Program Coordinator. Approved completion forms will be forwarded to the Registrar’s Office for processing and posting to the official transcript.
