Chandra Myrick

Higher Education M.S. '02, Ph.D. '21

Dr. Chandra Myrick received the Dissertation of the Year Award from the Association of College & University Housing Officers - International (ACUHO-I). Her dissertation took a look at the experiences of Black women senior housing officers at predominantly white institutions (PWIs). The annual dissertation of the year award recognizes "exceptional work by doctoral students" as well as encourages "the highest level of scholarship, research, and writing to contribute to the college housing profession."

Dian Squire

English Education B.S. '04

Dr. Dian Squire was recognized as a part of the American College Personnel Association (ACPA) Foundation Diamond Class of 2021. According to the ACPA website, the Diamond Honorees "are 'Championed' by dedicated individuals who recognize their specific contributions and choose to raise funds in honor of each Diamond Honoree's outstanding and sustained commitment to higher education through student affairs and student development."

Inez Elizabeth Cohen

Elementary Education B.S. '74

Inez "Liz" Cohen will be honored during the inaugural Spring Alumni Awards as a Grads Made Good recipient. The Grads Made Good program recognizes alumni who have made outstanding contributions to their field. Cohen spent her career as an educator serving various roles, including teacher, principal, department chair, and national turnaround school consultant. For her accomplishments during her 40-year-long career, Cohen was recognized as a Distinguished Alumni by the College of Education in 2018.

Amirul Mukminin

International & Multicultural Education Ph.D. '12

Dr. Amirul Mukminin became a member of the International Evaluators and Experts - The Higher Education Quality Council of Turkey (THEQC). Mukminin is a professor in educational policy at Universitas Jambi, Indonesia.

Sonja Ardoin

Dr. Sonja Ardoin received the NASPA Early Career Faculty Award. NASPA is a professional organization for student affairs administrators in higher education, and each year it recognizes an exceptional full-time faculty member within their first six years of their career. Ardoin is currently a faculty member at the Reich College of Education at Appalachian State University, where she serves as an assistant professor of student affairs administration. Ardoin will be honored by NASPA during a virtual conference on March 19.
