    A number of students presented at the annual AERA conference alongside professor in the School of Teacher Education, Ithel Jones.

    The talks were:

    • Preschool Science Talk Study (Ithel Jones, Hye Ryung Won, Jaida Condo, Grace Castillo, and Emily Snowden)
    • Field Experiences and Preservice Early Childhood Teachers’ Science Teaching Self Efficacy Beliefs (Ithel Jones, Grace Castillo, Ahmet Simsar, and Emily Snowden)
    • YouTube and Young Children (Burcu Izci, Ithel Jones, and Latifa Alktebi)
    • A Case Study: Investigating a Preschool Teacher’s Beliefs and Practices in STEM Teaching and Learning (Hye Ryung Won, Ithel Jones, Hye Sun You, and Jaida Condo)
    • Current Trends towards Science Teaching and Learning in Early Childhood (Insook Huh, Ithel Jones, Hye Ryung Won, and Laura Elkin)
    • Preschool Teachers’ Attitudes and Beliefs toward Science (Hye Ryung Won, Insook Huh, Emily Snowden, Laura Elkin, Grace Castillo, and Jaida Condo)

    Jaida Condo, Grace Castillo, and Laura Elkin are all from the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program and were the only students from the program who presented at a research conference. The other students named are Ph.D. students of Dr. Jones.

    Demetrius Rice (Instructional Systems & Learning Technology Ph.D.) was recently featured by B-EZ Graphix, a multimedia marketing agency, as part of their Inventor’s Day celebration. Rice was featured for his use of advanced technology, like 3D printing; specifically, the group featured his 2017 project where he and his students designed a helmet that measured brain trauma.
