Heather is a first-year doctoral student in the Combined Counseling and School Psychology PhD program at FSU. She completed her B.S. in Psychology at the University of Akron. She previously worked at a Northeast Ohio children’s hospital as a Mental Health Technician in their inpatient behavioral health department. Her current research interests focus on adolescent/early adulthood suicide prevention, the stigma associated with mental health, building resilience, coping with trauma, and trauma-informed care. Heather spends her time outside of school with her husband and two children, traveling, working on her project car, and cooking.
