Dr. Shengli Dong is an Associate Professor of Psychological and Counseling Services in the Department of Educational Psychology and Learning Systems. His current research focuses on workplace and academic accommodations, transition issues to work and postsecondary education for youth with disabilities, mindfulness in counseling, multicultural counseling, and social justice in counseling.
Dr. Dong has published several book chapters, and peer-reviewed journal articles in journals such as the Rehabilitation Counseling Bulletin, Career Transition and Development for Exceptional Individuals, Journal of College Student Development, and Rehabilitation Professional.
In his position as an Assistant Professor at FSU, Dr. Dong typically teaches courses such as Psychosocial and Multicultural Aspects of Counseling, Internship, and Assessment in Counseling and Rehabilitation.
Dr. Dong is professionally affiliated with the American Counseling Association, American Rehabilitation Counseling Association, Association of Counseling Education and Supervision, and Chi Sigma Iota International Counseling Honor Society. He has been an ad hoc reviewer for several counseling and psychotherapy journals.
He earned his Ph.D. in Counselor Education (focus on Rehabilitation Counseling) from University of Maryland College Park in 2011.
