Inika WilliamsInika Williams, a doctoral candidate in the Educational Leadership and Policy Doctoral Program, was recently awarded a 1.3 million dollar grant for her grant proposal to increase college enrollment rates in northwest Florida. The project will be a five-year joint initiative between the Center for Academic Retention & Enhancement, the FSU Panama City campus, and several other middle and high schools. 

Inika was also recently featured in the Fall 2021 TORCH magazine.

Aaron ReynaAaron Reyna, doctoral student in Education Policy and Evaluation, spoke to students at San Jacinto College in Pasadena, Texas to kick off Hispanic Heritage Month. In his presentation, he talked about his experience as a queer Latin man navigating college and graduate school as a first-generation college student and how his identity has been shaped by his experience in higher education.

Courtney FrancisCourtney Francis, doctoral student in higher education, was selected as a member of the Florida Gubernatorial Fellows Class XVII. The Florida Gubernatorial Fellows Program is a non-partisan program that immerses university students in key areas of state government. Fellows receive advanced on-the-job training while fulfilling roles of critical responsibility and interacting with the state’s top leaders.

Zellanye HutchinsZellanye Hutchins, a current Ed.S. student in special education and KiDDs scholar, was one of eight special education teachers from around the country who were awarded a full set of curriculum by Attainment Company through the Attainment-Browder Curricular fund. Ms. Hutchins is a teacher at Gretchen Everhart School and received middle school curricula to support her students with extensive support needs in reading, math, science and social studies.

Gaurav HarsheGaurav Harshe, higher education master's student, won the 2020 Max & Peggy Becker Lifetime Volunteer Award from the Colorado State University Office of International Programs, as well a Study Florida-Florida Association of International Educators (FAIE) scholarship.
