Ana SanchezDoctoral student in teacher education Ana C. Sánchez Solarte has been selected to present in the final round of the 2021 Three Minute Thesis Competition. Her presentation is entitled "Teachers Matter: Exploring Foreign Language Teachers’ Wellbeing, Their Instructional Practices and Their Links to Student Engagement."

DreDr. Dakeyan “Dré” Graham, a student in the Instructional Systems and Learning Technologies (ISLT) Ed.D. program, was recently appointed to the Florida Commission on Community Service. Dr. Graham was also selected as the 2020 Florida Teacher of the Year.

 

 

 


November 16, 2021

amariAmari Houghton, an online student in the Autism Spectrum Disorder program, was recently nominated for the 2021 - 2022 Emerging Teacher of the Year award in the Pinellas County School District. Winners of the award will be announced in early 2022.

addiePh.D. student Addie McConomy has been selected to be one of the Council for Exceptional Children's DR Doctoral Students for the 2021-2022 year. Addie is a member of the General Curriculum Access lab and participates in research in the area of mathematics problem solving for students with extensive support needs.

addieDeidrePh.D. student Addie McConomy (left) and Deidre Gilley (right) have been selected as winners of the TED Kaleidoscope Student Poster Award. Both students work in the General Curriculum Access lab. Addie and Deidre both assist in research that examines math and problem solving for students with extra needs.

Calyn Ohman and the TeamCalyn Ohman, a current student in the FSU COACH program, recently led her volleyball team at Pensacola Christian College to the Division II Regional Championship. Having coached the team since 2017, Ohman credited some of her recent success as a coach to the work and teachings of Dr. Megan Buning and Dr. Timothy Baghurst.

Cassie KeppleCassie Drain Kepple, a current PhD student in Higher Education, recently published her first article. The piece, entitled "Making Major Decisions: Effect of a First-Year Seminar for Exploratory Students on Major Declaration," investigates how a First-Year Seminar might influence the college students that are seeking a major declaration.
